An opening for Clover
Try the grid before opening the walkthrough below. These steps refer to this exact board; rows count down from the top and columns across from the left.
Show the first three deductions
- Look at 10 in row 3, column 2. Only one 2 × 5 rectangle fits without crossing an edge, another clue, or a placed rectangle. Its top-left corner is row 1, column 1.
- Every cell must be covered. Row 1, column 3 can be reached by only one legal rectangle: the 3 clue, covering 1 × 3 cells.
- Look at 6 in row 4, column 5. Only one 2 × 3 rectangle fits without crossing an edge, another clue, or a placed rectangle. Its top-left corner is row 3, column 4.
Each later step assumes that the earlier rectangles have been placed. If your board differs, the in-game explanation works from your current position.
