About Shikaku Grove

Shikaku Grove is an independent place to play rectangle logic puzzles in your browser. The aim is simple: give you a clear board, useful explanations and enough space to work things out.

A classic idea, our own puzzles

Shikaku is an established puzzle format. You can read its rules on Nikoli’s Shikaku page. This site is not affiliated with Nikoli or other puzzle publishers, and we do not claim to have invented the format.

The code, generated grids, teaching example and written explanations on this site were created for Shikaku Grove. We do not import puzzle collections from other websites. AI coding assistance was used in development; a constraint solver checks each generated puzzle for a single solution and for a sequence of supported deductions before it is offered for play.

What the labels mean

Gentle, Steady and Deep identify 5 × 5, 7 × 7 and 9 × 9 boards. They are invitations to choose a size, not precise difficulty measurements. Some smaller puzzles may take you longer than larger ones.

Small by design

You can play without an account. Progress is saved on your device, and sharing a result does not reveal the answer. The site currently runs without advertising. If that changes, the privacy information will be updated before ad services are enabled.
